Why do Pilates at home?

It is the easiest way to stay consistent in your practice when you aren’t able to make it to the studio.

Consistency builds change.

Tips and Guidelines

Start small.

Being disciplined to have a practice at home is a challenge. We want you to be successful. Thinking you can do an hour each day for most of us is not attainable. Start small. Maybe it means you get on your mat for 2 minutes each day. That is a win. Do what you can and before you know it, those 2 minutes turn into 5 which turn into 10 and so on.

Build it.

Slow and steady wins the race! There’s no rush. Take the time to do the exercises as best as you can. Some days will be easier than others (that’s life, right?). Mix it up. You may want to take a few exercises and work on the finer details while sometimes you just need to move. Flow through the exercises you know without over thinking. Our bodies are built to move!

Listen.

Listen to your body. You know it better than anyone else. You are doing these unsupervised. If you have any issues or injuries, please get your MDs approval before starting. DO NOT work through pain. Pain is your body’s way of telling you something isn’t being supported correctly.

Reach out.

Do not hesitate to reach out to us. We do virtual privates. If you are struggling with understanding an exercise and getting it into your body, we are here for you. We believe in the power of Pilates and if you are open to having our support, please click below to book a session.
